http://www.nationalpetregister.org/mp/4527.htm
had listed him on the national pet register this morning,as he was assumed to be in someone elses house, but later on today, found him in the bushes dead.
he has been missing since last week.
had a bad meltdown from it,wasn't even allowed to touch him,am need to touch and feel to know it's real so can deal with it.
going to bury him.
have never met a cat like fluffybum and probably never will again, friendliest and least bothered by anything cat have ever met.
he in fact cured a few cat phobias of staff here.

why would a cat,who was active and looked in good health suddenly die?

I am very sorry for your loss. My cats are like my children, and I was very traumatized by the loss of my eldest last December. You have my deepest sympathies.

I'm so sorry to hear of Fluffy's passing. Cats can be such good friends. Cats can also be mysterious creatures. When they feel ill, they may crawl away and curl up where they feel safe. You don't say how old Fluffy was. Fluffy could have had a number of conditions - some genetic time bombs that you might not have known about, some infectious diseases. If Fluffy went outside at all (as he seems to have) he could have picked up any of a number of nasty diseases from things he found to taste, or water he drank, or other animals he encountered. Some of those illnesses can come on very quickly and it's all over quickly. If Fluffy was outside and found antifreeze from a car (sometimes radiators leak), and drank it - as cats tend to want to do - he would have been poisoned quickly. I'm afraid that without a necropsy you will never know what happened to your Fluffy.

The only thing that can be done in the case of an outside cat to keep him/her safer is [besides not letting him/her outside] to make sure he/she is vaccinated against most of the major diseases (Feline Aids, Leukemia, Pan, FIP, etc.). Even then, every time the cat goes outside, they're at risk from predators, poisons, environmental toxins, diseases, car and truck wheels, and mean people. You can't be with them when they're outside and roaming, to protect them from those things no matter how much you want to keep them safe.

I'm sure Fluffy knew that you cared about him. That's very important to a cat. There are a lot of "cat" people I've met who believe in a place called the Rainbow Bridge. Maybe you might want to check that site out:

I'm sorry about your loss. The hardest part about having a pet is to eventualy experience it's death. I'm sure that you were a good "parent" for your cat, and that it's not your fault. I have experienced the same twice, and it's hard to accept, or even believe that it has happened.

I'm so sorry. The only consolation I can offer is that the cat is now safely buried and resting in peace.

Sorry to hear about Fluffy.

You may never find another cat like Fluffy, but I do hope someday you find another animal you can connect well with.

thanks for posting, CockneyRebel,Tanz,Danielismyname,Nan,thyme,Reodor_Felgen,kittenfluffies,lelia,Graelwyn, Aspie1,RainSong,wsmac and Beenthere!

it means a lot because most people am know away from here think it's nothing or am a wimp for liking fluffy more than a human.
when will people realise that to many people they [pets] are babies-children,just because they are a different species doesn't make it any different.

Nan,
would poisoning have froth or blood etc around the mouth? he had a bit of saliva and his mouth was a bit open but that was all that looked not normal,he was sort of curled up and sort of stretched out.

sister and staff reckon he was at least fifteen, knew he was an old boy but not that much.
wasn't allowed him in the house because the ASAMFH [attention seeking aspie madam from hell] who also lives there doesn't like the attention he got so would attempt to chase and shout at him to get him to run off.
as if was going to listen to that though, she can't control what am have in own bedroom so waited for the right staff to come on and they would let him be sneaked in.
he got a steak cooked for him and chopped up into little pieces every thursday,he was groomed every so often [and still looked scruffy],he would lie down and let snails crawl all over him,if he wasn't walking around with a snail stuck on him something wasn't right, and on a hot day he would lie down on his water bowl, the lazy sod couldn't be bothered moving till he had a sleep.

the nasty staff who were on yesterday phoned the council without telling am,to come and get his body, ran straight out there with a box and towel, the staff tried restraining am and said no one can touch his body in case it's got germs, got away and got fluffy's body.
put him in the box and left him under the hedge in his favourite spot until sister could come in the car from work to get am and his body.

in that time, all the cats from the nearby top of the street had walked up,jumped over the wall and were sat around the box,it was like a cat funeral procession?,have never seen anything like it,fluffybum was the top cat of them all and would give them a smack in the mouth if they tried to steal his food, but they were best friends and would sit around together.

was not going to let someone from the council come and scrape him off the grass and put him in a plastic bag [like they do] like he is dog crap,so took him to parents house, and he is now buried next to other cats.
that stupid staff lady has complained about parents and sister to the manager because they allowed am to touch him and take him home, they do not seem to have any idea am have to touch the body to make sense of death, the the same staff lady also tried to fight am tonight because am got close to her and she took it as meaning looking for a fight-according to the other staff who was on.
she's phoned everyone including managers etc how nasty am supposed to be,so have come to stay at parents tonight,am coping with way too much at the moment and don't need a horrible person like her making it worse than she does already, family are going to put complaints in.

and another thing......
on the national pet register site--- http://www.nationalpetregister.org/what-we-do.php
sign up any pets that do have [not just ones that are missing], as they give ID codes to write on their collars so they can be easily tracked if they get lost.
it's a free service, have told sister about this, not sure if any non UK people can use it though.
