Do you believe everything you're told?
Nope. I'm too skeptical.

Did you drink Kool-Aide when you were a child?
They didn't have Kool-Aid where I grew up in Trinidad, so no.

Do you live your life vicariously through TV shows?
Uh uh. I barely looked at TV. I did like the cartoons like Underdog and Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Do you believe what the FDA tells you?
Sure, why not? They seem to be pretty credible.

Do you follow authority figures blindly?
Not at all. I acquiesce to their demands, not out of respect, but out of need of keeping my job.

Do you read newspapers?
I used to. I do read them online, so yes.

Do you believe in Democracy?
I think democracy, as a political institution, works better than communism or those that don't separate religion from the state.

Do you put your faith in doctors?
I used to, but in the past couple of years I've come to see they're as infallible as anyone else.

Do you follow fashion?
Nope. Not at all. No skinny jeans or tattoos for me.

Do you *follow the crowd* because it seems right even if it feels wrong?
Nope. I'm utterly surprised when people congregate in the streets. I often have to ask why they're there.

Do you hum commercial tunes?
No, because I don't know what they are.

Do you buy cheap food because it's on sale, even though it's unhealthy?
Being the spendthrift that I am, I do look for bargains, so yes.

Do you believe that innoculations are a great necessity?
A few years ago they tried to sell us employees on the flu vaccine. I never bought into it and I never got the flu.

Do you listen to *pop* music?
Here in Seattle, pop music would be Macklemore or whatever indie band is popular, so no.

3 - fashion, pop, and commercial tunes. Judge me all you want.

Wait, NTs believe everything they're told? I thought this forum has stated many, many times that Aspies are the ones to fall for all lies, even as little kiddies? :?

Quote:
Did you drink Kool-Aide when you were a child?

Don't know what that is, suppose it's some American thing.

Quote:
Do you live your life vicariously through TV shows?

Not generally, but that's because I don't watch hardly any TV, although my life is similar to the TV Soaps.

Quote:
Do you believe what the FDA tells you?

Don't understand what you mean.

Quote:
Do you follow authority figures blindly?

Don't understand what you mean.

Quote:
Do you read newspapers?

No, but I do pick up on what's going on in the world through other people.

Quote:
Do you believe in Democracy?

Don't know what democracy means (even though I hear the word everywhere).

Quote:
Do you put your faith in doctors?

Not many people do these days.

Quote:
Do you follow fashion?

Yes, I like to look trendy and/or presentable.

Quote:
Do you *follow the crowd* because it seems right even if it feels wrong?

I only follow the crowd because I want to fit in and have friends and I hate being ridiculed.

Quote:
Do you hum commercial tunes?

Sometimes.

Quote:
Do you buy cheap food because it's on sale, even though it's unhealthy?

I don't look for bargains because I am not a good shopper, but I think I would if I become more better at shopping.

Quote:
Do you believe that innoculations are a great necessity?

Think so.

Quote:
Do you listen to *pop* music?

Not a lot, but I do end up sitting on my laptop searching different songs on Youtube with my headphones on.

All these contradictions that go on this site makes me want to leave, but I'm too nostalgic to leave this site.

Q. Do you believe everything you're told?
A. Depends on what it is and who said it.

Q. Did you drink Kool-Aide when you were a child?
A. I think a little.

Q. Do you live your life vicariously through TV shows?
A. Yes? I love TV, but not the typical crap that is aired. Mostly cartoons and anime.

Q. Do you believe what the FDA tells you?
A. As long as it all seems and sound correct. So far the FDA hasn't done anything to lose my trust.

Q. Do you follow authority figures blindly?
A. No. I do and think whatever is in my best interest.

Q. Do you read newspapers?
A. Yes. Comics, as well as the local uni paper. It's mostly garbage, but it's important to see what "normal people" are thinking and discussing. I also read online news.

Q. Do you believe in Democracy?
A. I believe that it is a political concept that is/was used. Though as it stands, I wouldn't call the US a democracy.

Q. Do you put your faith in doctors?
A. I hardly go to them, but for the most part most of them know what they are doing.

Q. Do you follow fashion?
A. Not really, but I do enjoy seeing different styles and hope that more people would wear different things than shirt+jeans.

Q. Do you *follow the crowd* because it seems right even if it feels wrong?
A. No.

Q. Do you hum commercial tunes?
A. Depends. I hardly see commercials, but if I've seen one recently, it might get caught in my head just like any other song.

Q. Do you buy cheap food because it's on sale, even though it's unhealthy?
A. Not because it's on sale, no. I buy cheap food because it's cheap and something I want to eat.

Q. Do you believe that innoculations are a great necessity?
A. Not a necessity, but they help.

Q. Do you listen to *pop* music?
A. Ugh no.

I'm not sure what really any of these have to do with being a "sheeple". I generally don't follow trends and just go about things my own way. That's how I answered every question.

I figure actually using the term "sheeple" unironically is a sign of some pretty hardcore groupthink.

I hate the term sheeple. Usually when I hear it it is said by someone that doesn't like people that think differently than them but wouldn't apply the term to people mindlessly following them. It's pretty much like they are saying "think like me or I will insult you by calling you a mindless follower, unless you are my mindless follower".

I mostly heard people using that term on talk radio.

I know there are people that are actually sheeple and just follow whatever society says to do but I personally don't do that and like or do things based on my own thoughts and feelings rather than what is popular.

Not really. I tend to doubt about it. But I used to believe to everything I was told as a child.
What the heck is Kool-Aide supposed to be?
No.
I neither know what the FDA says.
No. I tend to be oppositional.
Nope.

Yup.
Yup.

I do not do things just because others do it.
I neither try to be different on purpose.
I just do what my instinct tells me to do.
If in the process I'll agree or disagree with some people, it's just irrelevant to me. I don't seek other people's approval or prise, and don't care about their criticism.

Or just buy the kind that already has the sugar in it.

I drank kool aid when I was a kid and still drink it now.

Many of these have little to do with being a "sheeple" and only apply if you are doing these things to follow the crowd and not by your own decision.

Do you believe everything you're told? No.
Did you drink Kool-Aide when you were a child? Yes and I still do.
Do you live your life vicariously through TV shows? Yes.
Do you believe what the FDA tells you? Some things yes, some things no.
Do you follow authority figures blindly? No.
Do you read newspapers? Once in a while.
Do you believe in Democracy? Yes.
Do you put your faith in doctors? Yes, mostly.
Do you follow fashion? No.
Do you *follow the crowd* because it seems right even if it feels wrong? No.
Do you hum commercial tunes? No. I don't hum and don't watch tvs except for dvds so I don't see commercials.
Do you buy cheap food because it's on sale, even though it's unhealthy? Yes because I'm poor and that is what I like.
Do you believe that innoculations are a great necessity? Yes and I recently had something that I may have been able to avoid had I got the vaccination but they didn't have that one when I was younger.
Do you listen to *pop* music? I don't listen to any music.

It's a powder that you mix with water to make a flavored drink.

FYI :"innoculations" are vaccines.

Speaking for myself - I dont want to die in a pandemic- so I do consider vaccination programs necessary.

They left out the most important question: "Do you take lists of dumb questions like these seriously?"

If so - then you're a sheeple!

But I think that when people like popular things, it's often because they genuinely like it, not just because it's what everyone else likes. Popularity itself rather guarantees this because of increased exposure due to that popularity.

I mean, I used to have a really negative opinion of people liking popular things, until that was explained to me. Now, I don't really care why someone likes a thing, I assume it's genuine and let it go at that.
