I can't believe the devestation ! !!

The numbers keep piling up. Over a quarter of a million people evacuated. Over a thousand homes burned to the ground.

Animals in a zoo have been moved inside for safekeeping.

Smoke plumes billowing out into the Pacific Ocean, miles offshore...

As I drove through Santa Monica this morning, I could see the smoke from the Malibu fire hanging over the ocean.

I keep my inhaler with me at all times when the Santa Anas are blowing.

They're showing pics of the sky looking orange from the smoke.

If you have asthma, that must be hell.

They're now saying between 300,000 and 500,000 people have been evacuated.

That's what I heard as well.

If big brother can control the path of hurricanes... it would be nice if they could stop the wind & send us some strong rain.

Maybe they could get some of those black helicopters to drop some water, eh?

You know I think at this point the firemen(woman) will take any help they can get. My area alone has had five fires burning all around us in the last three days, one a block away threatening our neighborhood yesterday afternoon. A new one popped up across the valley since I last posted. I'm praying everyone stays safe.

I hope you're safe, Wrackspurt ! !!

They've been saying these fires are throwing embers up to a mile away!!

My neighborhood stands not only because of the fireman, but because of these two (there are really two each). Flying carrying slopping water must be hard enough, add in 80+ mph winds...

It's bad. Some of them were caused by arsonists too, including the one that's nearest to my neighborhood. Luckily we live far enough away that we don't have to worry about evacuating. *Knocks on wood*
