I've never called a hotline, but I've attempted suicide 3 times, and each time I woke up, in the hospital, angry to still be alive.

Now I'm glad I am... sometimes... most of the time...

I'd say, give it a try, if you are feeling that low, sometimes just talking to anyone can help, hearing another voice is good.

Please, I hope you feel better, and I hope you don't kill yourself, mostly because its a selfish thing to do...

Think about the aftermath, and who would find your body, that would suck for that person.

I've had people tell me that it is selfish to commit suicide, but oddly enough, it didn't decrease my pain. Yes, I have called the local suicide hot-line here. Most of the time, it's a joke. It is manned by student volunteers from the Uni who must place you on hold as soon as you are getting into why you are calling! They are forced to man two to three phones by themselves for whatever their shift is. After being placed on hold about three times, I have often just hung up. I would never call them if I was seriously suicidal, because I would probably be driven to go through with it! :x

Suicide hotlines are a joke...you call a number in all desperation and they put you on HOLD.

I lost several friends to suicide...if someone is really hurting and bent on killing themselves, they will succeed eventually no
matter how many crisis hotlines they call or psychiatric admissions they have had beforehand.

Twenty years ago I had a roommate who worked the locaolsuicide hotline. It's a very hard job. I think the quality of service probably varies from one location to another.

I have never called a suicide hotline, it would probably take me forever to find out the number. I have tried to kill myself before and felt bad when I didn't accomplish it.

I suppose if you thinking of calling one of those hotlines, just call the emergency number, and they should pick ya up and hold ya for a little while, unless you have an actual plan to kill ya self, then they hold ya longer.

Suicide is not a solution...

Razors pain you
Rivers are damp,
Acid stain you
And drugs cause cramp.

Guns aren't lawful
Nooses give,
Gas smells awful
You might as well live.
