Why keep fuelling the corrupted two-party system we currently have in the United States? Check some of these other parties out (they're all pretty different), and maybe even find other parties.

It's one of the joys of Australia's preferential system that I can vote for an obscure minor party safe in the knowledge that I can direct my preferences to a major one.

I just had a leaflet stuffed into my letterbox for the Socialist Equality Party for the election on 24 November. They look like loonies, but I can vote for them and:

1) strengthen democracy by encouraging a diverse range of opinions and parties, and
2) send a message to the major parties not to take my vote for granted.

I probably won't because other minor parties will appeal more, but it's nice to know the option's there.

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferential_voting if you want to know a bit more about it)

Don't forget the Greens and the Democrats. In Australia, they can actually win seats. Actually, so can *shudder* One Nation....

Used to vote Democrat in the Senate until they lost the plot.

As the Greens scare me (and have a reasonable chance of winning the electorate I'm in, Melbourne), I tend to preference to Labor ahead of them, the Libs and ratbags such as One Nation and the CEC.

I ALWAYS vote third-party if there is a candidate in that particular race (write-ins are good too). In fact, I am registered to vote under the (U.S.) Green Party: damn the two-party system!

Two-party system = no party system in my opinion. It's easy for two entities to collaborate against others; it's another thing to get consensus from more than that. As such, it's incredibly rare that I vote for anyone from the 'standard' two parties in the USA.

Until the stranglehold of the Replicrats is broken, you'll never see substantial change in the USA.

So true. The two parties end up agreeing on everything and in the end there is no real opposition party.

I've thought about voting for the Constitution Party candidate in the past.

Toss up between Labor and the Greens for me.

Most of the political parties, including some minor third parties, scare the hell out of me!

I've never voted in a Presidential election.
I question the concept of a "right to vote".
I'm not entirely sure about my questioning on the matter, though, so I'll vote in polls that don't really affect anything, but if there is an absolute result that can occur if some option or another wins the vote, as in elections, then I won't vote.

Not a third party person here. I am choosing the Democrats because I like seeing rich people pay higher taxes, and because the Republicans are no better than the Nazis.

I've always voted 3rd party (Liberal Democrat, to be precise). I strongly disagree with some of their views, but for the most part they're fairly good, and I *hate* the concept of a 2 party system. There hasnt been a 3rd party prime minister in the UK in over a hundred years, if I recall correctly.

Don't vote for the Lizards, and the other Lizard won't get in either.
