Food seems to be one of my special interests ( I seem to have a few of them!)

My main problem is that I run to chunky to start with and I then over eat.

Not just a little but a lot. ANybody else have this problem and if so how do they combat it.

If not, want to exchange recipes?

Was never really chunky, but have at times put on a lot of weight ( been two or even three stone over weight at two particularly bingeing times in life), and find most effective solution is to cut out the foods which I have addictive reactions to . Specifically wheat and all other glutenous grains. ( rye, oats, barley)
The food-opioids in the gluten are opiate similar and not only create addiction, to the euphoria they induce, but also increase appetite , because that is what they do!!
When I cut out gluten, I find that if I do binge it tends to be self-limiting.
I'm finding cutting out dairy makes me even less prone to stuffing my face. (Dairy is the other common source of food-opioids, and so also induces cravings.)
Stick to nuts, and roasted seeds, and fruit, and sticks of carrot with mayo, or tortilla chips (make sure not use flour to flavour) with non-dairy dips, like guacamolo.

Good luck. :)

I've given up on overcoming it but I have a great recipe for cake! ;0)

I was really thin as a child, only because of a super high metabolism. After that...I have put on some. I am a bit fluffy. (I'm not fat, I'm fluffy!). My husband thinks I'm gorgeous so I happily accept that love is blind and I can still eat chocolate!! !!

I am trying to get back on my diet, but I *love* to eat!

Try not to overeat, however despite the Obesity hysteria currently in the media, there is nothing wrong with being a bit chunky.

Perhaps getting involved in the fat acceptance movement might help.

I'm also trying to cut back. I'm finding that going to O A is helping.

Overeating, especially after I find that I'm really hungry, gives me a migraine attack. It's therefore something that I don't do too often.

I overeat because I have trouble regulating my hunger sense. I feel starving if I am nervous, but also I can't tell when I am full except if it starts hurting. I typically eat however much I am served (or however much I have served myself). So when I go to restraunts I over eat really bad. When at home it isn't so bad.

Eating feels so emotionally good. I don't eat because I'm hungry. I eat to feel less anxious. I can't take a small portion and decide it's enough. If it tastes good I want more, lots more. So I have to treat myself like an alcoholic. One bite is too many and 100 bites are not enough.

I refuse to eat food I like, except for planned binging times, after I have lost some weight. Between those binging times I eat small portions of healthy foods that I don't really enjoy, so no chance of firing up my appetite.

If eating or fine food is a special interest, then try reading and collecting cookbooks. I'm building up a collection and rarely make anything out of them. But it's fun to read.
I also make a weekly jaunt to this really nice restaurant. The kind you can't afford too much of. I try different stuff every time I go there. If I have a really good meal, my appetite is sated for a while. If I'm dissatisfied with a favorite food, I obsess over it until I get the good stuff. (Philly cheesesteaks, Chinese, Thai and hamburgers)

Putting stuff in the freezer helps too.

I find hedonism to be a perfectly tenable lifestyle.
