I have the obsessor which is my name wllr which stands for watch, listen, look, read and it means I want to watch anything and everything and so on with all of those. Im just wondering if anyone else has obsessions/passions that are pretty much their life and they don't really feel they need others when they have their obsessions. Also the other passion I have is to be a write and make hopefully at least a billion dollars.

A lot of folks here seem to be flies on a wall. Lately I've been trying hard to participate, with mixed results.

My obsession is my work. I love the practice of law. My kids say that anything they bring up, no matter how unrelated it is to the law, I will somehow bring it back around to the law. It's my life, my passion, my obsession. It's like play, not work.

Thank you, Vorzac.

It's a little embarassing because people sometimes say sympathetic things to me when they find out how late I stay at the office, or that I worked all weekend.

When they find out that I like doing what I'm doing, they look at me like there's something wrong with me.

People say I am probably missing a lot of life, but I don't know how to keep track of life anyways. I'm content.

Since being diagnosed, I have become obsessive with just being me - I have had to live in their world, and act the part for far to long.

So my new passion is my own world, no more pretending....

This was what my mothers ex partner does, although he did this in a negative way. Everything I said, or anyone said, turned into a conversation about how the system was "screwing him over", which eventually led to him having an obsession with police scanners and he listened to it all of the time...even at his security guard job!
He is not an aspie by the way...but not entirely NT though, a bit mentally ill I think as he was a stalker...

anyway I am completely changing the subject so let me stop my ramble here

I hate this idea everyone has that work is supposed to be uninteresting. That's great that you have a job you truly enjoy. Right now I'm in graduate school. I'm hoping I eventually get to the point where I find myself working on weekends. Right now I'm struggling though. Not because it's too hard, but because I can't seem to find the enthusiasim when everything feels like jumping through artificial hoops.

Amhealy,

I love my work, too. I'm fortunate to work in a library. To me, my work is also like play. My job is ideally suited to my organizational skills and interests.
