It does absolutely not make you a loser. Aspergers can be a good thing.

Agreed. Any factor of a person's makeup will have up sides and down sides. Learning yourself is a lifelong pursuit. Use your strengths, strengthen whatever else you can and minimize the damage from the rest. It's not just a life, it's an adventure. :D

well it depends, if you have no friends then yes you are a loser, if you do have a lot of friends and a good looking girlfriend then, no, being an aspie means your are probably the first with no friends, but not all aspies are that way

They''re the ones who are too damn "normal"to except us aspies.they're the ones that can't handle anything different.

The difference between an NT (non aspie) and an aspie, is DRIVE. NTs will lose their drive for a certain subject very quickly. Aspies, however, have the distinct ability to NEVER lose their drive and interest in their favorite subject. This means you'll accomplish a lot more than other people, much faster and much more efficiently. It's kind of like being a computer with an ulta fast processor, but you suck at social skills and you have meltdowns.

Maybe people will think you're a loser because you may have no friends. But us Aspies enjoy being alone.

Don't forget, even Bill Gates is an Aspie. Look how far he's come.

Good luck!

It doesn't make you a loser. It means you have the chance to become an amazingly strong-willed individual, and prove that aspies can be just as acceptable as any "normal" person. Maybe the chance isn't easy to take, and maybe you don't choose to take it at all, but this still doesn't make you a loser. Maybe you want to stay in a comfort zone, and if so, no one should take that from you. You are who you choose to be, and that doesn't make you a loser at all. It's just your choice. Don't you EVER let anyone get you down!

Nah. Being a loser has to do with attitude. As aspies, without a doubt, we lack what others have socially. However, as long as you're content with yourself and don't hold yourself back w/ self-pity & doubt, then u don't have the losing mentality that defines what a loser is.

I think aspies only become losers when they're young and forced to conform with NT norms and standards. When you get older and learn where your proper place is, you'll never feel like this anymore no matter what people tell you. You can be unemployed, online and channel surfing all day and still feel absolutely fulfilled. I'm not advocating laziness or anything but my point is that we don't instinctively go for the same things as NT's do so why fight it and conform to them? Make up your own standards if you want to. You can only be called a loser if you're part of the competition.

You can't have AS for 10 years unless you are 10 years old which I presume you aren't
Just thought I would say that.

To the person who started this thread...
Having AS does in no way make you a "loser". If at all, it makes you unique, the world needs unique people otherwise it would be so boring.
