can you give emotional support, as well?

you get points for honesty! people have this reciprocity thing going on, where they give what they want to get. It's like mutual grooming you might have seen in primates on the Discovery channel?
so if you get someone that is really into you and into being all codependent putting your needs before her/his you have to look at that and know it is not a healthy relationship either, but it might work for you.

The reason that they want them is the reason why humanity as a species continues to survive and perpetuate(go figure  ) :D

I want somebody to be with for the rest of my life. I want to have a happy family and by doing so I will feel I have done most of the work in life I feel I need to do. Everyday I wonder more if it is possible that I will die alone, and see in the end that I have failed. I really hope that does not happen, I have been trying for a while now, and really worry about the future in a very negative way. But I still try to keep my head up.

I want a boyfriend because I want to feel loved.

Is that a good enough reason?

It's a better reason than many alternatives...

Actually I can't think of a better reason... I would just change it to being loved by the right type of person. Actually to want to be loved... not just feel it...

Sex?

From my point of view, is so they are not lonely, Loneliness equals depression. If you need somone, their is little you can do about it. If you choose loneliness, you might as well work 7 days a week 365 days a year, to not do so isn't going to make you much happier.

I've never had a boyfriend before, I'd like to try it. I don't know if it would really make me less lonely though. Maybe. I would also like to have sex and I don't think I would be comfortable doing it with anyone who wasn't my boyfriend.

I know when I was in my last relationship, 50 BC, I think that was the year. At first all my problems, went away, but then something happened, and that happiness disappeared. But we did'nt have a lot in common, so I think if you find the right person, you'll both be very happy.

I want someone who I can share my life and open up to with ease. I want someone I am perfectly compatible with. And I want someone to want me for those exact same reasons.

If I were wealthy, I wouldn't want anyone dating me simply because I was rich. And I definitely wouldn't want someone dating me just so she could tell everyone she has a boyfriend, thinking that she will "be like everyone else" if she has one.

Tim

yes, that's true of some people (not that I don't want sex, but what I really want is more than sex).

To me it's all about the sex...

Relationships are a lot of effort if the only think you want is sex. That's like getting married just so you can have sex.
