I'm so bored. I hate sitting in the little room in my mother's face all the time, I hate people's comments on how I should go out and do something else, I hate the way this city is so dark, I hate the way I'm so broke I can't afford anything at all or even to travel to the West Edmonton Mall, I hate living with my mother at all, and I hate the fact that if I get a job the Dole will be cut off and all the money (literally!) would go to the rent anyway because the Dole pays all the rent and then gives some money to live on. I hate the fact that even when I get out of here I'll be living with my parents and I don't know if I like my father, and I find my mother boring. f**k my stupid life. I'll do what I damn well please. I'd rather be in prison.

You're not the only one. I have to little experience to get a real job, and I'm broke until the student loan comes.

If the email that I sent someone wasn't so graphic I'd paste it here. It was one of the generic I'm sick of doing nothing with my life and being alone emails.

Ah! The teen years.

"Spend fifteen minutes a day improving yourself,
it is nothing from a day, but 90 good hours a year."

You have bad habits, pick a good one.

Learn one word a day in another language, in a year you will have a working vocabulary.

Try to do a pushup, in a year you will do many.

You have a body and a mind, chose how you will use them.

Mom, Dad, Edmonton? All history in a few years.

Ana54 will still be, who will she be?

Only you can.

Do you know enough about cats to become a Crazy Cat Lady?

Getting a hobby will only help for boredom. She'll still be depressed.

I don't know. Because what I'm reading about her dilemma and feelings she presented, they are situational. One of special significance, is to describe her city as being dark. Which could be a simple matter for a remedy to sit in front of a window, for a period during the day. Perhaps while doing a sedentary activity or hobby? Also, I'm thinking she might like the color orange. It'll be nice if she's feeling more hopeful, if not better, in having these replies and suggestions.

I'm sorry that you're going through a tough period. Someone has already suggested doing a hobby next to a window (maybe reading a book - free if they're from the library), surrounding yourself with right colours.

I actually do like orange... when I was a little kid orange was my favorite color! I collected orange things! I hated blue and loved orange! Those orange pencils are nice too!

When I look out the window all I see is the gray highrise across from me, casting a pretty dark shadow over my building and the street below!

:wtg:, here's a bit of orange, have you ever tried that thing where you think of some thing's that make you happy, capture that feeling, dig your thumbnail into your index finger, then whenever you do this again, its meant to trigger those happy thoughts, I think that's how it works.

Haha! I thought so! How fun that you are a collector, being that of orange things makes it more interesting. I like the pencils too, and it's interesting how they've been stacked. Ick, the dark shadow over your building might block out important light needed to produce nutrients. Is there any period of the day which the light might shine brighter, inspite of the shadow?

What's the matter? Has your face been bashed so much that you've grown to like it Frankenstein?
