Nowadays speech writing has gone high tech. They hook test audiences up to machines to test emotional reactions to words and phrases and then use what they've learned and use them in speeches to market themselves and, maybe starting a war.

I'm thinking that those speeches are directed at NT brains and don't work well on aspy brains. When I've seen an obvious horrible lie coming out of politician's mouth and then feel amazed when the polls say that most Americans are buying the garbage they're spewing, it boggles my mind.

So, in time, when those people who bought into the lies realize that they're wrong, it just reassures me that I'm somewhat immune to political spin but I'm in the minority.

Those lies are suppose to capitalize on the NT brain, much like religion.

I am not reading face expressions but I am good at detecting manipulation patterns.

Well, the general rule of thumb is that politicians are dirty liars. Which means you can't trust anything they say. They only make bigger and bigger lies to win over your votes. The nicer it sounds, the more people who will vote for it. Even if it doesn't happen. They're like the commercials that try to sell you out because they look nice, but the actual product itself is crap.

Which is why I don't plan on voting in the future. It makes no difference whatsoever.

Political campaign speeches are annoying. I always get that sense that it’s all phony and contrived. They try too hard to please everyone rather than tell the public their true opinions. They spout overly optimistic feel-good rhetoric about what they’re going to do and how they’re going to turn things around. Sometimes I feel like shouting “get real” to their face. :)

How can you tell a politician is lying? His mouth is open.

I used to be a sucker for lies, but now not so much. I can tell when a politician has something to hide.

the media is the most powerful tool they have, with it, they make people go to war, sell their products, change opinions, create trends, modify the whole human mind.

one must know what way they act.
not only oneself will be free from falling into their tricks but it would know how to help friends and family how to avoid these scammers.
the work is never ending, never think you know it all, these people are that powerful because they are smart, but not smart to know that when people find out they'll be doomed.

about those techniques and lies being directed to NTs i agree and it makes a lot of sense, but we are humans too, and we can also fall for it. it just has less effect on us.
i know they lose big time on the copycat area.

Dr. Oliver Sachs wrote a book, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. It was a great book about people who had severe brain abnormalities but Sachs wrote about these people as whole people with these differences. I haven't read the book for years but I remember one chapter where he said that some people in an mental hospital with some brain problem caused them not to react as trained seals to emotionally manipulative words and they were watching a serious Reagan speech and were all laughing.

That's why I wondered about how easily aspies are manipulated. In addition, I have a profoundly autistic daughter who loves fun toys and completely ignores heavily marketed toys like Barbie.
