This has to be one of the more sad cases of natural selection to come down the pike recently. Kimberly Dawn Trenor has admited to athorities that she tortured and killed her 2 year old daughter along with her boyfriend. Needless to say, this woman has (thankfully) removed herself from the genepool by killing her only child, she's likely to spend life behind bars (one could only hope).

Any benevolent god wouldn't allow natural selection to operate in such a manner.

The only thing that sucks about being an Atheist, is not believing in a hell for pathetic pieces of s**t like this to burn in. :evil:

Animals regularly kill and even eat their young. Why should some humans be different? Admittedly it's socially bad manners.

I shouldn't have read that article. Of course, every murder is tragic... but there's something about hearing of a mother killing her child in such a brutal way that makes me feel physically ill, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that feeling.

Shoving one demented woman into a little room for the rest of her life is unlikely to deter any other demented woman from behaving in the same way. The stupidities of individuals and of societies are equally disgusting.

Child labor is another possibility, but generally most animal don't eat ther young. Iknow logically tha gorillas do not because they don't have many young. One gorilla has only 10 young in its lifetime.

This doesn't prove anything. You have wars, disabilities, diseases and for all that, there could still be a god.

One wonders though, if God has a mindset anything like a compassionate entity, they would do something about it. Instead, we have the whims of Man and Nature palmed off as 'God's will'.

Compared to other apes (including humans) gorillas are very peacefull.

Is "God" just sitting back and doing nothing? Free will, perhaps, and population control. Perhaps this "God" is more of a force than a supernatural entity. Lots of possibilities, no answers.

the disposition towards aggression in big apes and many mammals is not the body size... but the (relative) "balls" size... for which gorillas are not so proportionally endowed.
