Quote:
The universe has always existed and always will exist. It operates in rotations of explosion (Big Bangs) and implosion (Big Crunches).

This is in many respects identical to classic buddhist cosmology which was of course sprouted from the hindu or vedic traditions in India.
They made particular note of the cyclical nature of the universe, and the transience of compounded things.

Quote:
One of their rituals to keep themselves in a positive frame of mind is to congratulate and praise themselves for every good and productive action they conduct no matter how small.

Buddha taught not to congratulate yourself for good deeds, but do them without any thought of their "goodness" Make them second nature.

Quote:
Why the universe exists should not matter to a Rotater as they are advised to practise indifference towards any issue which is impossible to be resolved by the human mind.

The historical buddha would never discuss questions about the origin of the universe as he saw this as a futile pursuit that could not lead to the cessation of suffering.

Quote:
The Rotaters believe that if their governments or masters take action that they disagree with on the basis that they are un-peaceful or unproductive to the common good of the Earth and its inhabitants they should engage in civil rights activism and civil disobedience. Ignorance and intolerance should always be challenged by a Rotater, it is their mission to spread the voice of logic and reason and to encourage peace and equality for all.

As for civil protest, there were some striking magazine covers during the vietnam war with photos of monks who were burning themselves alive to express their devotion to nonviolence.

According to some things that I have seen/read the Universe's expansion is not slowing down, and is actually speeding up. Thus the end of the universe will be a cold infinite expansion as energy becomes more and more dispursed with no "big crunch"

I too was very reminded of Budhism though

Heck, I've been a practitioner of alot of other religions,
and this one makes sense other then the contraction thingy with the Universe
But then again, one never can be all to certain

Can we have a religious ceremony like the Divershes
Where you spin like crazy mimocking the rotating energy in the universe and the individual

Thank You, whoo hoo I am a proud new member
To mark the occsion I offer this poem.

A secret rotation in us
makes the universe rotate.
Head unaware of feet,
and feet head. Neither cares.
They keep rotating.

If you wish to become a founding Rotater, welcome to Rotaterism. :)

Your dervish-inspired idea to spin around mimicking rotating energy is excellent. It will be added as the first Rotaterism (which is still a work in progress) ceremony, as a way to achieve transcendence of suffering and euphoria by means of the movement of our body alone.

Count me in... If I get to wear a big purple robe on special occasions and be the lord chief rotator (also known as a Cog) of the British and Irish.

(Cog is a semi pun on Cog Wheel, which never stops rotating)

(basicly that means I am the guy asked for advice by others who are rotators....)

(also, what about the rotary club, do you think we need to persuade them to join?)

Quakerism can be cool,
Especially the non religious, group meeting kind.

My mom is a Quaker in a small town in Michigan.
The group consists of most, if not all, of the highly literate, creative, free thinking, socially liberal, people in her town. A really eclectic group of really great people.

But what about the purple robes, cogs, and dirvish dancing.
Ah man, I'm so depressed.

Lots of Love, Peace, and Joy

I still don't get the cursing of the Fig Tree.
It wasn't even Fig season.

I believe that we are all the children of the divine.
Here to play our part, to sing, to dance, to spin in circles.

Although some may have a better grasp on the relationship,
no one, not even Jesus, has the right to claim exclusivity.
Funny thing is, I don't believe he ever really did, but then Jesus and I have never sat down and actually had a discussion about it.
