RELIGION by Public Image LTd (ex Sex Pistols) 1978

Stained glass windows keep the cold outside
While the hypocrites hide inside
With the lies of statues in their minds
Where the Christian religion made them blind
Where they hide
And prey to the God of a b***h spelled backwards is dog
Not for one race, one creed, one world
But for money
Effective
Absurd

Do you pray to the Holy Ghost when you suck your host
Do you read who’s dead in the Irish Post
Do you give away the cash you can’t afford
On bended knees and pray to lord

Fat pig priest
Sanctimonious smiles
He takes the money
You take the lies
This is religion and Jesus Christ
This is religion cheaply priced
This is bibles full of libel
This is sin in eternal hymn
This is what they’ve done
This is your religion
The apostles were eleven
Now there’s a sod in Heaven

This is religion
There’s a liar on the altar
The sermon never falter
This is religion
Your religion

I don't follow a religion but my way of thinking would probably be described as Buddhist or perhaps agnostic as I'm searching at the moment.

What are you 'searching' after?

Philosophic Taoist; as I've said elsewhere, Heinlein said it best in "Stranger in a Strange Land" through Michael Valentine - "Thou art God." That we exist is relative divinity to me - it is remarkable. The scope of existence ranges far beyond the limits of our perceptions, and is something that inspires awe and respect.

There is a small yellow mushroom in my back yard that is obviously a supreme being that created the universe. If I put my ear close to it I am sure to hear faint music made when virtual particles emitted from its underside clash together creating gamma ray music. At sundown I sacrifice a cockroach to its supreme being and do the dance ceremony while standing on my head and sneezing in reverence. Whenever Friday 13 falls on a Thursday or if he Sun rises at midnight here in Finland I whistle Yankee Doodle Dandy and fall into a trance where eternal mysteries are revealed to me and I get the latest bus schedules transmitted to my long term memory. It is, I suppose, a religion of sorts but there are few of us worshipers since all the dogma is a total secret unknown by anybody except a queen ant who isn't talking to anybody.

What I believe. I'm not an atheist as I've had experiences that prove to me there is something there, but I'm not exactly sure what my belief system is at the moment.
