I've been watching these forums for a couple of months, so I decided to register.
My name is Rachel, I'm 21 years old and I'm a music student (composition major). My principal instrument is the clarinet. I also play the piano, violin, viola and a few others. I teach the clarinet, piano, violin and saxophone.
I am 99.99999999999999% sure that I have Asperger Syndrome. It would certainly explain most of my childhood...
Besides music, I like reading, art (mostly painting, but I also like to work with clay if I can get my hands on some), psychology, philosophy and number-y/pattern-y type stuff. My latest interest is chaos theory, but I have only just started reading up on it so I don't know much about it yet.
I think I've bored everyone enough for now...

Well, my attempt to resize my avatar didn't work, so I am using this new one instead.

Yes, why must all the babes on this board be from the Oceania region?

hi, rachel and welcome to WP. :)

and thanks for sorting your avatar out :D

could you take out about 30 (i counted them! aaaaaargh!) of your "9"s in your 99.9% bit, cos it's playing havoc with the page format. ta ever so.

great place, WP - you come here and you get asked to edit stuff immediately 8O don't worry - it's not always like this... :)

welcome.

You haven't bored me; I think that the things you do are some of the things that I'm interested in. I'm interested in music and the arts as well (I play the trombone and I like to draw, as it says in my signature). Nice that you found Wrongplanet and nice to meet you!

(Note to self: do not, in future, just let your finger rest on the key for a few seconds without thinking of what it will do to the page layout. Now stop talking to yourself. People will think you're crazy, and besides, it will make THE VOICES angry)
A few of the 9s are now gone, and I apologise for playing havoc with the page format. I promise not to do it again for at least another 10 minutes. :)
Aspiegirl, you play the trombone? What sort of music do you like? I like the range of styles that most people refer to as "Classical". Most of my favourite music comes from the early Romantic period (roughly 1820-1840ish) or from the 20th/21st centuries.
...back to boring people....
I am driven by two things: a love of music and an insatiable curiosity. Most of my thoughts start with "I wonder..."

Too bad you were unable to resize your other avatar. :( I liked it.

(I use PhotoFiltre-- which is a free downloadable program-- to resize my avatars and pictures.)

Sophist- I prefered my other avatar, too, as it is the first few notes of the solo of what is my favourite clarinet concerto, both to play and to listen to. I might try and resize it again, but not today.

It's still a bit too big. And their's no Clef, I'm assuming it's Treble veause you play Clarinet. I play(ed) Baritone and Tuba. I recently quit high school band, but am still interested in music. I'm more into singing right now though, but composition has always sounded intersting. I occasionally make up a song in my head and don't now how to record it. Well, until college I guess.

Welcome to WP! :D

I don't know why, but I actually had a preference to the first sized avatar you had. Probably relating to the fact that this one pushes the messages over to the right slightly, and it's a bit extreme on the wideness. Although I would like your current avatar if it were a certain distance less wide (I'm not familiar with the art of figuring out pixels on a picture, so I don't know exactly how much). Anyways, welcome aboard. :D
