Marijuana Activist Facing Life in American Prison Over Seeds
Hemp production was legalized in Canada I think in the late 90's. I've heard that it is heavily regulated and and difficult to get a licence for production. These barriers supposedly exist to ensure that the hemp production doesn't result in marijuana production.
BTW did you see the 60 minutes episode last night with interview with Marc Emery? It will be interesting to see what effect his case has on the enforcement of prohibition in Canada, if it has any effect at all.

Canada has almost decriminalized marijuanna.
The liberals screwed up big time, and the conservatives got in.
Just let them try to make a harsher pot deal with the Block Quebecois.
The anwser will most likely be Non.
Besides their main guy was a crack smoker when he was in Cabinet!

The so-called decrim law was never introduced into parliament prior to the election. The bill would have been a phony decriminalization because it would have imposed harsher penalties on growers, while allowing fines for possession. If you go into the legal transcripts that are available online for the Parker case you will see that the laws against marijuana were struck down in 2003.
Of course, the conservatives could always introduce new legislation with stronger penalties but since the conservatives do not have a majority and must now work with the other parties to pass any new laws it is unlikely they will be able to pass any harsh legislation.

That policy was to go after the ones that sell it majorly and not the people buying in the street.
I wonder if there was some corruption involved as well, a black ops government sponsered grow up? I am just making conspiracy theories again...
Anyway, all the conservatives need is to make a deal with the BQ.
Will they budge for extra dollars for quebec?

No chance. The BQ would never side with the Conservatives. The BQ aren't closet users like those Liberals either. The BQ are out, loud and proud. They could have the largest bust ever known in Canadian history in Quebec and the grower would never see a trial. The war is over in Quebec and has been for a long time.
