Aspie Grandad?

I never knew my maternal grandfather - he died of lung disease bought on by shoddy working conditions in the sheffield steelworks, before I was born. All I know of him are from second hand accounts. Example:

* He was shy
* He was an excellent mathematician
* He once showed up for a date with my grandmother holding a box of cornflakes. He'd asked the shopkeeper for gold flake (rolling baccy) and the shopkeeper hadn't heard him right. He didn't want to correct the guy

Reckon he was an Aspie?

I suppose we'll never know but I love the story about the corn flakes. It cracked me up.
He sounds like a very kind-hearted person.

I agree with Monastic. Whether or not he was an aspie, he was someone I would have liked to have known.

Hehehehe, corn flakes. That's something I would likely do (if I chewed tobacco that is).

Don't know if he sound like he had AS but the corn flake thing I have done. However, I admire that he took them with him on the date - how sweet.
