I think, one day, if I can afford it, I'll have a barn built with a loft for me, where I won't worry about the animals being too messy. I could just leave the house for guests.

A people only barn? Could that really be called a barn?

My chickens sneak into the house all the time because they think they're cats or dogs. I've been too nice to them so I would like to just live with them in a place where we could all get along.

Nope, but I could sure do with a cosy house on a hill, in secluded woods, and near to a river. Not going to happen yet though.
Until then, I'd love a nice two storey house with good transport links and a scenic view.

Anubis, your instincts are right about a house in a secluded woods on a hill is a good place to thrive. We live in a place like that but just a little creek. We hadn't realized how much we thrive on nature and seclusion from people but we really do. I wish we'd known a long time ago how much of a difference it would make.

we could put swings in it and hang our beds to rock in them to go to sleep.

If I could sleep in a hamock in the barn...then sure. If not, then no thanks.

Does anyone have a barn or stable you aren't using and can turn into a safehouse for Aspies to come crash?

Naw, I will be happy the day I sell this place and buy my modest dream home in the country, no barn living for me unless I was desperate for shelter and in that case I wont complain.

Would it be insulated against hot/cold extremes? would it have modern conveniences such as electrical wiring and plumbing? Would it have partitions to create different rooms within the structure?
Or would it be a barn like the cows and horses live in?
I prefer house living or at least apartment living. I am accustomed to that. I've gone camping before, though, and a nice big 3-room tent wouldn't be so bad as long as I also had the Coleman portable shower to go along with it.

I really like the idea of swings in the barns. The barns I imagine living in have a big door at the top in a hay loft area. I'd live up there with a deck to look outside. The animals would ive below, mostly. Yes, I'd was electricity and plumbing. I just think I'd feel more free in a barn. I feel too pressured in the house, like I have to make it stay in NT condition.

How about sliding poles for a quick way to get down from the loft, diffrent levels of lofts, big sky lights, AC for the summers, every thing off the grid and Goliath bunnys that can come and go and are house broken :D potty trained,

They converted a barn into apartments near where I live so that may be an option if you look hard enough.
