Do you mean music from Horror Films like...

The Omen
The Exorcist (Tubular Bells)
The Shining

or are these two separate topics?

Just a name : John Carpenter. He made some of the greatest horror movies of all time, and he composed some of the greatest soundtracks of all time to these movies. A true master of cinema.

Aliens
-The first Alien movie had atmosphere, but it didn't really excite me. Add a few more aliens and guns, and now were shiny. 8)

Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness
-Horror and slapstick...who'd have thought they could go so well together? :D

Halloween
-One of the only good slasher movies out there (one or two of its sequels were all right).

Misery
-This may be the only horror movie I've seen that doesn't involve aliens or the supernatural. It really got my heart pounding.

Sean of the Dead
-Another Horror-Comedy - also very good.

The Shining
-Obviously .

Aliens, Event Horizon, Predator, Pandorum, Outlander, and perhaps Predators which wasn't so much a horror film as an action film, but then again I suppose the same could be said of the original.
