I have found the info to be extremely helpful, because it has kind of cleared up for me why others are often perplexed by my behavior and reactions at the office. Attwood is also very supportive of Aspies, in manners such as you describe, suggesting that employers learn how to make the most of AS talents instead of nitpicking over the quirks.
With a better understanding of, forgive me, the NT brain, I have been better equipped to "act" my way through office situations, and life has been much easier.
I am in my late 50s, so that proves to me that it is still possible to learn how to modify one's behavior, even during middle age!
