This was Cockney's idea, so thank her.

Although I like video games a lot, I can only seem to play Viva Pinata. It's the only video game I haven't got bored of.

I love Viva Pinata. It's the best 360 game IMO.

I grew up with the Super Mario Bros. I've also played Final Fantasy VI on my Gameboy SP. I'm currently saving up my money for a Nintendo Wii. There are also some sports games that I've played.

World War 2 Online.

14 day free trial.

Best WW2 simulator (infantry/armor) out there. The flight and navy sim parts of it are arcadish but the ground combat is so realistic it is easily overlooked.

Not to mention it is INSANELY fun to know that there is no AI opponents.. every single enemy soldier, plane, boat, tank and vehicle is a human player.

Last night we had a small group of riflemen guarding a mortar position on a hill overlooking a city...we saw a small group of german panzers and scout cars followed by a couple of squads of riflemen and machine gunners... we would've had to abandon the position but there was friendly air forces in the area, we called them in, they had bombs... began shelling them with mortars and smoke mortars to mark their location..

and in 2 minutes a squadron of P-38 fighter-bombers dropped bombs and strafed the heck out of the poor buggers. Position held most of the night and our army division took the city by sunrise.

I have to recommend you Forgotten Hope :). It's a mod for both Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. Battlefield 2 version, "Forgotten Hope 2" currently has only North Africa, but there are also more servers... actually, Battlefield 1942 version is played quite rarely these days.

Of course it's only 32vs32 (I'm guessing WW2OL has much bigger battles), but it's also free (if you have the Battlefield 1942/2, of course). Tanks, airplanes, infantry, artillery, it's all there, and they act much like in real life

Played both of them. They are arcade compared to WW2OL. The damage model in WW2OL is very realistic.

For example, each shot hitting a vehicle, IF it penetrates, has a damage model that calculates spall and explosive and concussive damage.

Image

Its funny to see people coming from other games whining how their Tiger tank shot a Crusader A13 light tank 12 times and it didnt die.. well..duh.. the shot went in through one side, the paper thin armor doesnt slow down the tiger's shell... doesn't hit anything inside the tank, and exits out the other side.

Aka, vs a tank you dont simply shoot at it and hit points or a predetermined spot makes it blow up.. you actually need to hit it at the correct angle with a weapon that penetrated the armor.

WW2OL has had 600+ people engaged in combat over a single town. Battles can go from little squad vs squad skirmishes to full army division vs army division engagements.

"My only regret, is that I had but one life to waiste on videogames!" (If only I could remember who said that :? )

I love videogames, but I rarely have the patience to play the same game through twice.
