I write this myself. I will add more to it later.

The world is full of people who have opinions. Different people believe different things for different reasons.

Now,having different opinions from each other is natural. But why is it that this man discriminates against his brother because the brother does not have the same viewpoint as him? And,why does the brother being wronged,in return, discriminate against his brother? Does he believe in,"Treat others the way you want to treated" or not?

Having different viewpoints from each other is natural because different people believe in different things for different reasons.

Why discriminate? Is it because everyone is selfish and arrogant? Is it because they are power-seeking and afraid of losing control?

Why discriminate?

WHO CAN SAY WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG? MAYBE WE ARE ALL RIGHT,MAYBE WE ARE ALL WRONG,MAYBE WE ARE BOTH OR NEITHER. WHO CAN SAY WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG? IS THERE EVEN SUCH A THING?

If a person murders someone but thinks he is right, can we still say that he is wrong? If a person is against abortion and thinks she is right, can we say she is wrong? If a Christian and an Atheist get into a fight over religious viewpoint, who can we say is wrong? The Christian or the Atheist? The same people who say,"The world would be such a boring place,if everyone was the same" and then harrasses a another for dressing "differently" from them, can we say they're wrong or right?

If a person supports nudism, can we say he is right? If a person likes S&M,can we say she is right? If a person is a rapist, can we say he is right? What about if a sexist man and a feminist woman got into an argument over which sex is "better",who is right? The man or the woman?

Who can say what is right or wrong? Maybe we are all right, maybe we are all wrong, maybe we are both or neither. Who can say what is right or wrong? Is there even such a thing?

What do YOU think?

Lack of understanding? Conflict of interest? This man thinks he's right, his brother thinks himself right. In their own opinion, they both can't be right so the other must be wrong?

Retaliation?

Perhaps he believes in self preservation. You say screw me, I say screw you rather than screw me?

Self control? Afraid of losing themselves? Maybe self preservation?

Um..... Yes? :D

Yes.

We can, in fact, say anything. But that sounds like an opinion, and may not be a fact. And opinions have a nasty habit of being right for some people and wrong for others.

Both.

We, that is to say, I, call those people hypocrites. And in the face of such blatant hypocrisy, we can tell them to shut their lying traps and stuff it.

Sorry, I'm not really taking this very seriously.

Quote:

Yes.
Quote:
If a person likes S&M,can we say she is right?

As long as it isn't forced on another against their will, yes.
Quote:
If a person is a rapist, can we say he is right?

No, we must sever his family jewels from his body and shove them down his throat. Then we must stone him to a bloody pulp, and hang him until he doth die.
Quote:

They're both stupid, so smack them both with a large fish. An equal and proportionate amount.

Yes. I can say what is right for me and what is wrong for me.

I think diversity is overrated. Someone has to for the sake of diversity.

Me ~ I can say what is right and wrong.

Different people believing different things is healthy and right and makes the world a safer place.

Groups of people blindly all believing the same thing is unhealthy and wrong and makes the world a dangerous place.

It is a sad fact that people grouped together under one belief invariably sink to the lowest common denominator of human cruelty.

None of these questions can be answered definitely, but many people have tried. I suggest reading up on the field of ethics, you might find it interesting as it deals with these exact kinds of issues it is about. Wikipedia - Ethics. On the more practical side of things, you also might want to read about the idea of the Social contract.

The fact that we all see from a different perspective, have different beliefs, subscribe to different moralities, have different desires and have different perceptions of life are what makes being a living human being so wonderful :)

I think that diversity is wonderful. It would be boring, if everybody was exactly the same.

I can say what is right and wrong, but if people were to just accept it without looking it over and thinking it through then I lose all respect for them.
Logic is our only way of determining what is right or wrong, but many issues cannot be submitted to logic.

In the end we must all do what it right by our own hearts, and nobody can really discriminate anyone for doing so.

I completely agree that there is no real one version of the truth, BUT I don't think anyone could ever justify harming others purely for ones own pleasure as right.

The situation also gets a little complex if one were to start arguing whether a scientific (i.e. proven) fact is right or wrong - does sufficient evidence indicate a thing to be true? And what is "sufficient".

Opinions are never wrong, but they can be misinformed and manipulated.

This is a fascinating subject from a philosophical standpoint - no matter how much anyone says they can empathise with others, you will never be able to understand fully the thought process and background experiences which lead to an opinion or action.
