Loss of a life topic

One wonders how rehabilitated Scarlett's maternal parent will be in 10 to 20 years. There must be some sort of inquest or inquiry into this horrifying death in order for something positive to come out of this.

Well, it is Canadian jail, so she will be offered rehabilitation services, unlike some American jails(or worse, somewhere else), where you just get thrown in a cell and left to rot.

Its not that it justice against her, its justice for those who cannot defend themselves, and it sets a precedence for those that murder autistics. If you google "Tracy Latimer" you will see another situation where a parent sits in jail, unrepentant.
