can you please code (or have coded in) in so that before someone can PM someone they have to do a short read/write scipt?
I know it will be inconvenient for people, but I am starting to get sick of being spammed with bot
messages from people who want to basically sell you porno or take advantage of you.

The bots must be targeting active users, as I have been gone almost 5 months during my break and only got a couple of PMs when I came back.

I haven't had any problems with bots yet.

If you report them, we'll ban them... generally speaking.

I have no idea why you, in particular, should be being singled out.

Or... are there really a lot of these going around? We just get the odd one reported per month, I think.

I never get that, and yeah it would be *very* inconvenient.

im an active user here and i have not got any bot pm spam yet, but yea, some websites that use pmming on message boards do have whats called a CAPTCHA (were you have to type in letters or numbers in combination (similer to when you registered to wp) to start writing the pm message.

which is VERY annoying. I never get the sequence right, due to the fact that the letetrs/numbers are so freaking hard to read, and then I have to do it over and over. Why make this website *LESS* user friendly? I think thats a terrible Idea.

I wouldn't be surprised, you signed up when WP was still in it's infancy.
