When the first few big heavy drops hit the windshield I gleefully anticipate the onslaught of water. I like it when it rains hard enough that I have to turn the windshield wipers on high. Also like the way the tires sound when they glide through a patch of standing water. At night I like watching the millions of raindrop splashes on the ground illuminated by passing headlights. Rain is beautiful to me. Especially so when listening to music I like.

I've only had that problem in the winter. I was forced off the road once in Vermont after a truck passed me. It spewed a bunch of salt and frozen grime all over the windshield that the wipers wouldn't touch. I think the wipers broke. I panicked pretty good and almost lost control. The shoulder was really icy and I could feel the tires slipping all over before I came to a stop. Got out of the car and I was sideways. I seriosly thought I was going to die.

Luckily my car defrosts pretty quick when it's above freezing.

I don't drive, but I dislike riding in a car in the rain, unless the weather is really remarkable, or we are driving through the country or something like that.....rainy weather combined with dirty city congestion kinda gets me down.

About a week ago, we were stuck riding around in the rain in the dark, and out windshield wipers are old and don't work very well, and there was little to no visibility, and occasionally the truck would fishtail...and I was riding with someone who was not exactly sober....needless to say i was scared out of my wits.

I don't mind driving in rain - if it's 'regular' old rain, not the heavy downpour kind. I drove through a microburst once and it scared the sh*t out of me. Driving in snowfall is even worse, especially at night. When the headlights light up the snowflakes coming straight at the windshield, I get disoriented. Feels like I'm flying through space.

Funny you started this thread, I was driving in the rain a few hours ago thinking about how much driving in town at night sucks while it's raining.

Well, I don't drive yet, but I love walking in (or standing in) the rain, as well as riding in a car while it is raining.

Very much, especially in the country. To me it's like an alternate dimension.

I was also the kid who would go outside and jump around in puddles when I was a child. I still get the urge but now that I'm passed forty...

hard rain and wind at night - I LOVE IT!

Last fall, I took my wife out for a drive like that out in the country. I was doing the speed limit but she kept telling me to be careful and slow down and stuff.

The rain is OK, but I really like to drive during a fresh snow storm, at night, with huge flakes. I find it very relaxing, and enjoy watching the snow bombard my windshield. It reminds me of a micro meteor shower. 8)

It rained heavily this morning. I absolutely love waking up to rain. I had to drive in it and it didn't bother me at all. Puddles do, so do mud, but rain itself is wonderful.

I like riding around in my friend's van, when it's raining in the evening.
