I have noticed everyone (well almost) has something down there at the bottom of the screen, yes, there.... No, not that far down.... STOP IT!

I am sure I should have something too, something to express my zany yet serious personality....

I was either thinking about cutting from a poem by Robert Frost (for my serious, but sensitive side :) ) and perhaps a joke or something....

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
but I have promises to keep
and miles to go before I sleep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

(but if I fall down in a heap,
upon this path so long and steep,
my CD player you can keep-
who cares? It's crappy and it's cheap.)

Something like that?

((Edit: Drizzleman's suggestion bolded))

Robert Frost and a joke? Could work... just make it 'upon this path' and it'll scan.

Or there's the rather cliche "What should I have as my signature?" signature.

It doesn't matter. I've used various quotes (both here and at other sites) and various things I've said for my signatures. Other people include something brief about themselves, like aspiegirl2. Mine has a brief snippet about me, as well as other stuff. Why not just pick something (preferably non-offensive ;)) and post it. You can always change it later.

Yes. "Upon" this path. Dunno how that escaped me, I am a meter nazi.

How about using a quote that you like, or a joke, or an announcement? Some of my previous signatures have been announcements about Harry Potter. My current one is a quote from the movie Billy Elliot.

I noticethat like eveyrone in WRong planet does this, why? Is this an Aspie thing? I personally hate that's why i don't have one. Its distracting to me, when I just want to see what the person is writing about. I don't care about the stuff that does not matter.

No, most forums have them. At least at WP, people don't have the signatures that can have pictures in them. Most of the Harry Potter forums I visit do this.

Signatures just add a bit of a personal touch to posts.

Or you could use the second half of someone else's signature.

"And second... she is..."
"Wise?"
"You do know her then?"
"No, just a wild stab in the dark - which is, incidentally, what you'll be getting if you don't start being a bit more helpful."
