Redirect?

When I get an e-mail notification of a topic reply, and I click on the link to WP, I am sometimes asked to login before I can read the reply. But when I log in, I am taken to my account page. If I hit the back browser button, I am seen as not being logged in anymore. So I have to close the window that I opened, and click the link again from my e-mail in order to be taken to the proper section of the forum which I am receiving the reply from. When I visit other on line forums, if I am asked to login, I am automatically redirected to the topic. Can something like that be done here?

If the post was in one of the hidden, user-only forums, like The Haven or Member's Only (obviously), then that'd be the reason why. If not, then I'm outta ideas.

hit back twice then hit refresh

that could be fixed but will be more difficult to repair due to the way sessions are tracked.
