Any views on what's happening in Texas with the polygamists?

I think it's all made up. I think that some baptist made that call or the state made up the call and such girl does not exist. I think they are overstepping people's rights. I think it's wrong to say that a 16 yr old should not marry a 50 yr old, even if her parents approve...or because their religion believes it's ok...yet, the state of Texas allows a JUDGE and the parents of a 13 year old to get married...that's very hypocritical.

I also believe that saying that these women are kids are brainwashed by their leaders is ridiculous...it is no different than the Catholics, the Baptists and many others who take their kids to church and scare them that they're going to hell if they become gay, or have sex before marriage, or whatever...

I think it's a sad day in the US when people feel they have the right to tell others how to live their lives or raise their children with the assumption that their way is the correct way.

Enough said.

I am surprised that Texas would actually ban a Christian denomination.

While I oppose Polygamy I don't think we should be forcing these people to give it up. if they can screw with one
religious group they can screw with all of them.

And of course if a Christian group feels that it's OK for old men to screw children, that's OK as long as it's not priests screwing choir boys.
