Chat?

Are there set times for chat? It's just everytime i go there, it's either empty, or someone's just left. :cry:

We should set times for the chat. Alex? Everybody? What times should the "chat times" be?

I think, also, you'll find that once the community grows (we're already one of the fastest growing Aspie sites, even three days into it!), there will be a greater chance of someone in the chat.

I think the times should be times when it would be more likely for somebody to come to chat. Here they are:

(NOTE: All my ideas are in the eastern [U.S.] time zone.)

WEEKDAYS (Monday-Friday)
6 am-11 am (summers only)
5 pm-10 pm

WEEKENDS (Saturday and Sunday)
6 am-11 am
Noon-5 pm
6 pm-10 pm

But that's just my opinion. Did it help at all?

I don't think it matters when you chat as long as you make a public announcement that says "Hi everyone! I need to talk. Meet me in the chatroom!" I did that this morning and enough people came to have a nice chat.

As for the hourly usage for this month, perhaps we shouldn't rely on that. Lord knows you and I have been up all hours working on the site in the past few weeks, which is counted in the statistics. In the statistics, 30% or so are on a Mac, yet Torely and I are probably the only ones using Macs on the site. I think if we identify the times in mid-July, that would be good. But it's not bad to just pick some arbitrary times that most people can afford, either.
