Ragtime, how can you respect the creator if you show contempt for his creation??
It's the "contempt" accusation that makes no sense. People mow the grass for entirely constructive reasons, and certainly not out of contempt for it.

What a thought! "I hate you, grass! Eat lawnmower!" Psychiatrists on standby.
It's your politically distorted interpretation of the (initially distorted) article that makes no sense. Mowing a lawn does it no harm, and the Swiss have not prohibited that. Likewise, the Swiss will continue to eat meat, while prohibiting gratuitous cruelty to animals. The person who delights in torturing animals is a psychopath, and so is the person who enjoys tearing up a landscape.
Yes, but "tearing up a landscape" will eventually be defined as mowing the grass.
That's the point I'm making.
In 10 or 20 years, when mowing the grass is frowned upon as cruel and callous,
you'll be further down the slope of liberalism, and saying to me, "But, Ragtime, no one's suggesting
that simply
owning a plant is slavery, but rather that forcing it to swelter by a hot window in the sun
all day long is cruel and inhuman."
