I keep getting sent e-mails saying i have been replied to from the "should i join a cult?" thread despite the fact that i have set my profile not to get any e-mails for forum posts and the messages are far more frequent than any actual posts to this thread. Can anyone fix this?

you can "unsubscribe" on the actual email, if i remember correctly, eamonn. don't ask me where, exactly, but somewhere in the email is something you click on (i had to do that).

computer glitches - who'd have 'em, eh?

at the bottom of every thread page, there's a link"notify me of updates to this thread" or some such thing. If you clicked that on the page, that would explain the emails. If you did that, the link on that thread would say "unsubscribe from this thread" or something similar. It'd be directly under the "page 1 of 3" thing. Just a possibility

The only thing i could think of was the "always notify me of replies" option in my profile which i have got it set on no but im still getting them from that thread. I cant see anything else i can do at the moment. Grrrrr.

Yes, that's correct, but it's beyond me why that would happen.
