I finally saw this movie after I became interested in it due to my rat obssession I had when I was 5. I really liked it, not just because of the rats but also because of Crispin Glover playing the title role and the fact that Willard reminds me of myself sometimes. I also think that the actor Crispin Glover has aspie traits as well, if you watch the documentaries on the DVD. Anyone else care to comment on the film?

I've seen the movie, and mostly because I love rats. I thought it was mediocre overall, though I did not dislike it; I admired Glover's performance and enjoyed watching the rats. If you have the edition of Roger Ebert's Movie Yearbook with his review of Willard, my comment (David Mitchell) is the one in his "Movie Answer Man" section.

This is the new version that was released in 2003. It is fairly dark and yet there is something about the movie that I find extremely compelling.

Becasue of his bizarre antics on the set of late night with david lettermen during an appeareance when he feigned a kick at host david letterman, he placed a permanant ban on him from appearing on the show

This video is hilarious

Has anybody wondered about Glover and AS?

(I liked the flic, btw. Have it on DVD. But I'd really like to watch the original and also Ben. But I've found both are kinda expensive to purchase.)

I'm kinda new to the Aspie world but yeah, I've wondered about Crispin.
I'm a fan.

....very aspie-like in that one. One of my favorite movies.

Rivers Edge is good too.

Yes!! ! I have seen his name on some Aspie lists before and based on his behavior I am suspicious. He may just be eccentric too though. Eitherway, I find him a fascinating and brilliant person. He seems very Aspie like with his perseverating.

I really enjoyed that movie and, frankly, the character of Willard does have a lot of Aspie traits.
