Should people be paid to be a parent?

Nope.

Like everything else in real life, if you can't afford it, you can't have it. The majority manage to earn enough themselves to bring up children.

If those who can't afford children are paid for parenting, then I want to be paid for something I can't afford. A Ferrari, perhaps. After that, I need to be paid for video gaming, gardening and reading books.

It's not like the world is underpopulated or something.

I could labor to shift a pile of rocks from the top of my garden to the bottom. Hard work. worthwhile work, but hardly any work is paid. Pay is mostly about employment, not work.

for some reason, i have a feeling the people who are supporting this are also the people who don't work for a living.

with all the resource shortages and what not, you'd think the opposite would be more likely true.

Bit of a pointless platitude this one. Will anybody regret not spending more time on WP? Will anybody wish they'd spent more hours on the toilet? Of course not, but you can't stop going.

Personally, I do regret not spending more hours at work in my 20's, as if I had, I could retire 10 years earlier and have a far more valuable house by now.
