the truth is inconceivable
the lies are indescribable
the memories are shattered
glass in a million pieces

the world outside is dark and raining
the sun is on sabbatical and is somewhere meandering

the cop cars are screaming
the ambulances are yelling
the music of anger is playing
on the dark streets of shattered buildings

my friends are non-existant
they vanished in the gruesome war between
ourselves and the world

my friends were all narcissists
they acted like they were the finest pieces of s**t
the amazing ambience of agony
everywhere
dissolved into my brain
with all the cacophony of raindrops outside
washing away any happiness

Mutilation is a sport on tv
just turn to channel five and you will see

the news is abysmal
one guy in Swaziland
got struck by lighting

in Finland today
there were shootings in school

Iraq another bomb
and five more lives lost in the sand

In South Africa
race shedding is coming
the lights have all vanished

now we cannot forget in India
the boss decided to make the guy
talk to some twat from Scotland

the rain keeps falling down
falling down

thunder screams
and lightining cracks

and disastors in every direction
blood running down the streets
accumlating into mountains of the devil
and the lava washes away our towns and cities
and disintegrates us into a million bits
vanished in the dark
for time immemorial

There's some excellent poems here guys, but alas, life is too miserable to appreciate them. :( All laughter is gone from my soul, and I cannot wait for the sun to scream down into the black void. Maybe one day there will be release from this all-consuming pain, but the bats of dysfunction swirl round my tormented head.

Btw, I'll write another one later. Writing emo poems is oddly addicting. 8)

My love has wings
And teeth and claws
And bears its scars from other wars with pride

____

I paint your portrait with my blood
It dries and cracks
And fills the studio
With a charnel scent
I cannot clean it from my brushes

____

Your eyes are coals
And your back
An elegant maze of weals
You were unfaithful
But I will always have your heart...

the sun has been extinguished,
the stars swept from the sky
the horizon of hope has all but vanished
enclosed in suffocating darkness
my spirit now drifts, aimlessly
on tattered sails.

I thrash upon a sea of unfathomable blackness
the gulls circle, but for me they do not care
wave upon wave crashes down on me
I submerge into the frozen depths of despair

Everyone has failed me. Nobody can comprehend the labyrinthine depths of my anguish. Now let me lie down and bleed. Let the hyenas gather for they delight in the stench of my own ruin.

if i may, i find existing emo poetry to be more hilarious than anything you could make up.

case in point, the lyrics of My Chemical Romance's "Helena":

Long ago
Just like the hearse you die to get in again
We are so far from you
Burning on just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well I've been holding on tonight
What's the worst thing I could say?
Things are better if I say
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight
Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then
We'll meet again
When both our cars collide?

IN CASE YOU COULDN'T TELL, IT'S ABOUT SUICIDE. BUT IT'S OKAY 'CAUSE IT'S ALL ROMANTIC AND STUFF.

Attention sought with reason not,
I follow fads without a thought.

Cut.
Cut cut cut.
Cut cut cut cut cut.
Cut cut cut cut cut cut cut cut cut cut.
Cut cut cut.
Cut cut.
Cut cut cut cut.
Cut cut cut.

Bleed.

But not to warrant arm constrictures,
If I'm to take more MySpace pictures.

Though 'death is sweet' is my lament,
I still decline to end life spent,
Instead of having up and went,
So well-liked on the Internet.

 Bah. Emos.

My style of writing is pretty much emo, so... here goes. I'm taking this seriously.

Redemption

I
In my dark midst, there were three -
Me and all I loved were two;
One of them was nothing more
Than a hopeless, jealous freak.

Many more escaped the name -
Calling twisted shadows now.
Bestial rage and beating hearts
Call me by my one true name.

Love's pain shattered empty walls
Leaving me with heart undread.
Taste my empty sorrow, love -
You know what deep mess you're in.

II
Taste the blood upon my lips -
You would, but I can't find you.
Perished at my fingertips.
(It's not your fault, but my own.)

Sweet blood lingers at my touch,
Though death is unbecoming.
Bloodloss, failure, my two names -
Suffering, worthlessness, life.

My own kin is my knife's rust -
Thrown it in the rain to die.
Die like me - shriveled, alone.
Torment me tonight again.

III
"Schizophrenic" stamped on me;
Was he beast or was he man?
Told me all the lies that made
me crinkle up and die again.

Roaming through the fields of blood,
Twisting rainbows: my abyss,
Glass has shattered in the sun
And the child in me dies.

Black and silver - child's play;
Your words hinder imagined
Wonders that come to my life.
I can't be schizophrenic.

IV
He's gone! He's gone! They both are
Gone from me forevermore.
Now love is true, but dead facts:
My scars still can't disappear.

I'm not all that you think I am,
Although it's true: I took salt -
Threw it down my screaming throat.
Death just seemed so becoming.

Did it not for attention
'Til the second time i tried.
Disbelief on both sides now:
What I did was wrong, I know.

V
Razor pointed, turn away.
Love, I know you're watching me.
Suicide's addicting breath
Travels down my legs again.

Cannot tell them but for two,
Now three, and one more sees them:
Cuts, blood red, she reads my mind.
Now they all must know my life.

Cannot be addicted, me?
I may be just a child, but
Innocence was stripped from me.
(I'm just the lonely one, you know.)

VI
His blood: sweet and tastes of death.
Sound the chimes for Freak is dead.
Laughter, dancing in the rain -
I imagine it's his blood.

Fall into it deep again, but
This time there's no need to cut.
He's beaten me and taken
My innocence, my dark soul.

Throw down the knife, pick this up:
It's a piece of broken heart.
I believe it could be mine.
Start collecting them. Redemption.

My old poems would probably be considered "emo".. I'll post one, though I'm just going by memory here. It's pretty pitiful, though I kind of like it actually:

There are weeds sprouting from my skull-
Itchy, tumbling down my back,
around my throat.

It is very, very quiet
Suddenly still.
The mirror threatens, smiling coolly,
(some other part I can't remember right now)

My bones ripple and scatter,
retreating into their five-fingered shells.

My face, a constellation of contradictions?
My eyes, two black marbles,
black and hollow, unforgiven?

It isn't really there.
It's the same old bag of tricks and laughs;
My reflection left some time ago,

When it tip-toed out of my skin,
and left me with all of its baggage and filth
Swirling in a whirlpool of blood and bile

Where sick children swim and rainbows melt.
I salvaged a pocket watch, a scrap of metal, and a porcelain doll
with a pink, cracked neck--

I could live inside of it, if only I could fit,
Somehow drain myself empty,
let the sickness slide out.

It is not acceptable. My body is but a shell.
Vile, contorted, it shrieks and recoils.
(forgot the last line, argh, but you get the idea)

Birdgirl and Nairin, I like those poems. I find it hard to take emo poems and songs seriously, but those ones are too good to laugh at.

Anyway, here's another emo poem, as promised:

Fighting Friday Mists

The mist is descending and again I'm alone
Everyone I know is gone
Your scent on the pillow makes me stop
My black heart screams out
In broken nostalgia, trapped
Like the clipped wings of a falcon
Time's teeth sink into me
Giving me no release from my torment
Oh, won't you cry again?

The fog is lifting but the red moon shines
Bloody as the bullet from the poison gun
Your blood on the coffin makes me want
To tear my black heart out
In broken agony, please
Free my wings from this vast pit
Time's teeth sink into me
And soon there will be a murderous release
Oh, won't you cry again?

My poem

Angels in the mist
Lookin for my quick fix
The clouds are comin down
Love and Hate afflict
Searchin all around
Screams surround
Take me down path
Show me the flowers
Where the wild roses grow
Thorn me a crown &
See my blood drip
Like red roses in golden rainbows
Gotta look what I cant find
Why ya trippin like that
See it's just a state of mind
My Angels in the mist
I can't find

Let them know it when you snap;
Do it proudly. Make them clap.
Tell the world of your ordeal,
Give your madness sex appeal.

Dye your hair a fuchsia pink;
Stain the brand-new bathroom sink.
Slip on your new miniskirt
And don your makeup. Be a flirt.

Show some skin; display your tan,
Go be naughty with your man,
Take your clothes off in the park
And let the chaos leave its mark.

Start your engines, raise your guns;
Fill the gaps with dirty puns;
Flirt with every girl in town,
Leave ‘em laughing as you drown.

Sick but not quite harmful yet,
Borne of sex and pain and sweat,
Soldier, savior, c* bitch--
Swing between them. Flip the switch.

Let the bastards take their fill;
Flush each pretty little pill;
Master your own tragedies.
Time to dance with your disease.

I love the imagery in your poem.

I barely understand what "emo" is...
but I tried to write an emo poem anyway:

Don't tell me that you love me.
Your lies darken my already-black heart.
How can you love something you can't even see?
Where am I? It is too dark here for me to know...

But I will never leave this place.
Beyond these dark walls, the light burns my broken soul.
I would rather stay and rot here in this puddle of blood.
No one will miss me, because nobody ever knew me...

After reading other poems on this page, I have realised that my poem is really lame...
