What if you do not regard spiritual progress as important, but you also disregard enjoying life? This thread disregards the framework of vindictive triumphs, bitter struggles, and so on and so forth to only posit the hedonic goal of enjoyment. What about Nietzsche's ubermensch? What about a thinker's consummate desire for truth? What about batman? I mean, what other than a rejection of happiness can lead a man to dress up a bat and risk life and limb night after night? A man seeking happiness would seek therapy rather than endless nights of battle, and homosexual adventures.
