Last month I paid my insurance for 2 months rather than just 1. I figured there was no point in me having the money in my bank account while my finances were being checked when i'd have to spend it before I could get any help.

I just received this month's bill from the insurance company and opened expecting to see a note saying I didn't owe anything. They say I owe them $216 because they never received a payment for last month.

Interestly $216 is the exact amount I paid them last month - its actually $3.42 more than a 2 months payment which indicates to me that whoever documented my payment recorded it as a delinquent amount rather than crediting my account with the payment.

Thankfully I can access my bank records online and see that they did in fact cash my check last month. Otherwise I'd be freaking out until monday
