I'm just wondering why the actions of moderators and administrators cannot be questioned?

Such as questioning why a thread was locked or a member banned. Why not allow public scrutiny?

I guess that they have their rules to stick to and have enough on their plate without indulging in time wasting arguments with everyone.

One reason that banned members cannot be discussed is that it might inflame the forums even more, and thus cause more crap for us to clean up. Ditto with a locked thread. Savvy?

Wouldn't that depend more on IF there is flaming rather than civil criticism?

We both know very well how civil criticisim can often be misconstrued, or else taken as a personal attack. In other words, even civil criticism can degenerate very easily into a flame filled wasteland.

True, especially in PPR. It does amaze me how easily everything I say can be taken out of context and then I get a lot of remarks thrown at me. Fora sunt delira.

Speaking from past experience of moderating/admin on several other forums a year back, this kind of public scrutiny never leads to anything productive, sounds so good in theory, in practice, its simply a waste of time, mainly due to reasons as stated previously in this thread.

And really, why do would anyone want to discuss the politics of WP rather than what the board is for: mainly autism and related discussion. There are plenty of really good politics boards out there if that is what members enjoy.
