I'd like to have a thread where we can share our photos and comment/critique, if there are any others interested...

Let's start then!

Tell us a bit about your Photography! And/Or show us some photo/s!

I'm just trying my hand at it, bought a semi automatic (DSLR) Fuji a few months ago and have been reading on the web and practising. I like to take photos mainly of people on the street and lovely streets and houses.

How do we upload photos here?

I don't think you can. You'll have to host them with an external service such as ImageShack or Flickr.

I am into photography but solely of cities and buildings, not people. I have photographed the following cities during the last months:

Amsterdam
Berlin
Potsdam
Leipzig
Prague
Dresden
Magdeburg
Istanbul

I am actually travelling right now, but once back home I am uploading my pics on a photo site to share them with the world. I do pay for the hosting, I trust that more than free hosting stuff. I cannot give any URLs now as I will be travelling for at least another week and will be back home to publish the site and upload recent pics only by the 15th of September. Be patient folks :)

PS: not sure why I only photograph buildings and cityscapes. Guess it is too hard to find nice women for a photoshoot whereas photographing a building takes no efford :)

Hi Green Tea! You will love the DSLR. It's so much fun!

I am shooting a friend's wedding in just about a month from now! 8O I'm both excited, but terrified that she is putting so much trust into my work! I've shot a couple of weddings before, but 1 was a cousin whom I barely knew, & for another friend, but that was like 20 years ago.

Most of what I shoot is landscapes. I used to do black & white infrared images (my fave!), but I don't have that camera anymore. I am looking forward to doing more ir work, but I need a compatible digital camera that will let me.

Wow, looking forward to seeing your photos you two!

I'll try to upload a few of my trips to Jerusalem in Flickr and will post a link soon.

Anyone here have any formal training?

I took a few photography courses in jr. college. Also had it back in jr high & high school. The college courses are where I really learned a lot of skills. ;-)

Now I'd like to get some Photoshop courses behind me. All in good time I guess. I have learned some editing skills on my own.

I like architectural photography, mostly, although most of my shots end up being family ones.

Actually, I'm more into (digital) photographic technology, than the art side of it; I'm a camera über-geek

Landaree, what technical aspects do you enjoy the most? I prefer the art side, because I'm not very good at technical.

BTW, I've seen that people upload photos to the forums, but I don't know how it's done.

Oh, pretty much everything technical about it, Greentea: from the relative technical capabilities of different camera models, to capture techniques, processing techniques, as well as... well, Photoshopping in its purest (and most evil ) form.

The thing with uploading, is that some (but not all) specialized photography forums will usually have their own internal hosting for member's photos. But WrongPlanet is obviously not going to be one of those, so all you have is a button in the message editor to include photos hosted elsewhere (as I said: ImageShack, Flickr, Google Albums, etc.); those external hosts will usually give you an URL (a web address) for each individual photo, which you have to copy and then paste here by using the Insert Image button.

But if you can only post a link, how come I see actual photos on the threads?

I am into photography, also getting into photo editing, mostly repairing old pictures, using Photoshop or Gimp, I have found doing a project, keeps me off WP for several hours

Photo editing is about the only thing that keeps me off WP for hours too :)

Ok so who goes first sharing some photos? Any vacation highlights perhaps?
