Is the BBC value for the licence fee?
Yes, I really like the BBC and it is value for money even thought I am forced to pay for it 33%  33%  [ 2 ]
No, I do not think the BBC programs are worth the creeping cost of the licence, basic TV should be funded by commercial means 67%  67%  [ 4 ]

What do you think of the currant state of the BBC? I'm losing faith in them to be honest and I strongly disagree with how the licence basicaly criminalises the act of watching TV.

I've heard stories of people who choose not to own a TV at all being sent final notices by the BBC! It's something Hitler or Stalin would have been proud of! Licence collectors attacking people on their own doorsteps, harrassing children and threatening illegal entry to properties, which Capita, the licence collection company, have no legal right to without a warrent from a judge, which is only given in special curcumstances so they never bother applying for one.

I also would be skeptical to the existance of "detector vans" too.

It seems very farcical for a 21st century democracy to allow it's media to be subject to such outdated nonsence.

The quality of the programs is nothing to cheer about ether. I watch about 2 BBC shows a week and for the extortionate licence fee I don't think thatd value for money. If there is a sporting event you can guarantee the programs I do watch will be messed about or cancelled.

I think that as TV goes digital, this would be a good time to rethink the funding of the BBC and fund it ether via advertising or voluntary subscriptions.

If those that *truly* understood digital TV they would realise it's almost money for nothing. I watch channels OTHER than the BBC except for maybe ... Maybe Star Trek.

I never understood as a child why some channels would be "free" yet the TV license still needs to be paid, until I got into software and understood *why* it was free. For the amount I pay on the license I could easily pay for the entire series of the programme I want to watch and not have to worry about having it interrupted with sports or reception. AND I can enjoy the extras in my own time
