This is probably an OCD thing. Today I bought a pot pie and it came with a cornbread. I really didn't want to eat the cornbread, but forced myself to since it was there.

Am I the only one?

Weight is something I have also battled with so I know how it is. I also have eaten to numb feelings. We have to train ourselves not do to that and I am working on that.... and think about the consequences later on. Either we put on weight or throw up and both has happened to me in the past.. and it sucks!! !

No, I am the same way. If something comes in a ready made I am inclined to consume each part of it. If it is a buffet though I am not inclined to try everything.

It helped when a doctor told me that there were certain foods I have to avoid. Now I have an excuse "no wheat, sugar, dairy" ect, to make the decisions for me. :-)

I try not to eat too much because food is so fattening.

I don't eat everything I have. If I get too full, I won't finish my food or if I feel I weigh too much.

No, if it is nasty I won't eat it.

A few years ago at Christmas dinner at my grandmothers brothers house there was this pea dish that looked quite tasty so I put a good bit of it on my plate. It quickly turned out to be one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. I tried hard to eat it but my throat wouldn't let me swallow it so I had to slyly wipe it up in my napkin.

Mine is very strange.. it goes sometimes where I am achingly ravenous even after eating.. followed by days of not wanting to eat at all.

I'll eat everything that's put in front of me, so I keep very little in the house. I'm dieting at the moment, and it's killing me!

YEs because I am inbetween jobs right now and I'm greatful everytime my mom puts food on the table. But as far as gluttony goes no only when im in a depression phase which comes and goes.

Hmm, could be indirect aggression towards yourself. Maybe good idea to bring it up to a psychologist eating and becoming full is a standard part of survival. Constantly starving oneself tremendously shortens ones lifespan.

MMMM I LOVE cornbread!

But NO! If I don't like something, it goes TOO far out of my rules, or I am full, HECK NO!! !! !! !! !! Don't you know there are people STARVING in India and China!?!?!? We can't east ALL the food! 8O Yeah, I KNOW! That ISN'T what parents are "trying to say", but I can't really see the connection. The nearest I can figure they are saying that we show appreciation by eating it(even if nobody is there to see us, and nobody cares if we do), because WE have been given the food to eat. Like somehow, if we eat all the food, the starving elsewhere will be able to now eat.

It's interesting! I had a talk with a person at a "cafeteria" recently and HINTED about how SO MANY places are SO BAD! He gave me a pep talk about how companies like his were DIFFERENT! I thought "YEAH RIGHT!"! I wish he could see that place through MY eyes. As I see it, there might as well be roaches and maggots ALL OVER the place! There AREN'T(to the best of my knowledge anyway), but the people don't care about proper cooking, cross contamination, etc... ONE actually claimed that I didn't have to worry about Mad Cow disease, because they cook food well. Actually, if they cooked it THAT well, NOBODY would eat there! I mean WHAT is the point of eating carbon!?!?!? So I REALLY have trouble eating there. If it isn't packaged, I won't even TRY, unless I am *****STARVING***** and the weather is BAD!! !!
