I knew it had to be some primitive culture like Congo, Darfur, or Sudan.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the next 'Einstein' to come out of Africa.

Oh.. great.. more witch hunts..

The only witch hunt I would take part in is the one where we can burn all the evil witch politicians.

God gave Moses the rainbow sign
no more water, the fire next time

that is sad, but there's a lot of education that needs to be spread around.

Never trust a nation that feels the need to state it is democratic in its name, as it invariably isn't.

People say colonialism is bad.. but to be fair, a lot of this sort of thing got roundly stamped on by colonial powers. A nation that cannot be trusted to NOT set fire to its own young is not looking all that healthy, nor all that capable of efficient self-governance.

Children Accused of Witchcraft

Christianity is the majority religion in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, followed by about 94% of the population, comprising Roman Catholic 55%, Protestant 29%, and Kimbanguist 10%.

Knowledge serves others, while ignorance serves only itself. :D

I believe both can do both, however, most likely, one would work better than the other, when it comes to 'serve others'. When it comes to serving oneself, not so sure :P

Which "they" do you mean; the kids, the people that accuse them of witchcraft, the people who stand by and let it happen, or the Religionists that openly promote the persecution?

The DRC is Roman Catholic, with a large protestant minority. Superstition is predominant everywhere, and in 3rd world countries in extreme forms. Religion has nothing to do with it, it's purely cultural.

No, they're just uneducated and superstitious. This happens in India all the time.

Btw, 4000 women are raped daily in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It's a kind of psychological warfare going on with the civil war.

Terrorists? No. The word you quest for is "ret*d".

And the Christianity (or lack thereof) is irrelevant. Christians invented witch burning. Christianism PWNS burning people for no good reason. This is more about uneducated buffoons blaming accidents of nature on superstitious BS they should so have grown out of by now.

Does burning children help? Does it really? No it f*****g does not. End of story.

Wow you have to feel sorry for the children, and feel totally outraged at the medieval thinking parents
