I really enjoyed reading that.
Really? I won't be allergic to Himalayan cats? How could that be?

Claradoon,
I loved your blog - I'll be sure to call in for a read from time to time.
Thanks for writing about the sighing thing - I do that too as I often forget to breathe. But it had never occurred to me before that it could be misinterpreted by others, or be annoying to them! 8O Something else to keep in mind in my attempts to keep the Social Police off my back at work.

That's good to hear about the Himalayan cats- allergic cat lovers can get a real cat instead of one of those icky naked things. But I heard somewhere that it's the cat's saliva that has the allergens- or ar there two different types of cat allergies?

That's what I had heard too- that it had to do with allergens in the saliva which are transferred to the cat's fur when they lick themselves.

Regarding the post on echolocation, I've seen documentaries on blind people for whom echolocation is extremely effective. One kid can even ride a bicycle. Very cool.

Very good read and format. More blogs need to have minimalism like yours that allow the reader to focus on your writiting rather than links, stylisms, and other distractions. Quality.

I like your spin on most if not all of those blogs. Especially liked the grandfather story(model t cars), shows how one must take responsibility for their own actions and deficiencies alike. Keep it up, I'll be bookmarking this one.

Great blog! I especially liked your entry on your cat, Bob. He's gorgeous! (I didn't know cats were Aspergian. Interesting!)

Wow, you are *so* kind! It's so encouraging to read these things. Thank you.

re the Himalayan cat - I'll have to get back to you re being allergic. I woke this morning with a head cold that could have been caused by allergy. It went away. I'll have to wait and see. I can feel dust in his fur, but no maddening itch or asthma reaction at all.

re fur or saliva - I think it's "dander", which is contained in saliva, which gets transferred to the fur when the cat cleans.

The thing is, allergies are cumulative. I haven't been near a cat in at least a decade. So I might not be allergic right away, but with time the allergy might kick in. The cat is a rescue and they'll take him back. They're glad to have me take care of him in the meantime. I'm in love. He came out of the bathroom; he head-butted me and rubbed his jaw on me. :)) He let me brush him.

So far, so good, and I've had the cat with me in bed. otoh, I bought a $300 air purifier that works great.
The cat has dust, sorta, so I rub my eyes, but it doesn't feel like an allergic reaction.
But allergies are cumulative, so I'll keep you posted.
How can that be? I dunno. Special breed, from Persian. There must be a market for that.

Looked at few older posts & can dig what you're saying:

1.) Enduring dentistry (am so sensitive merely thinking about it that I can't even stand to write or talk about it, most of the time). Just had a wisdom tooth out last Friday. Awful.

2.) I, too, am nervously, reluctantly, trying out internet dating sites (with oh-so-much trepidation)-so I share your skepticism yet (as the saying goes), "hoping against hope".
Joined plentyoffish, haven't tried eharmony, because the former is free & the latter is not. Nothing (thus far) has come out of it, so I lack sufficient information to form a conclusion.

3.) Left a comment on your blog's newest post (about brain injury book).
