Aspie - Aspergers or Autistic Spectrum

I think I've already asked this, but I've forgotten the answer.

Is an Aspie someone with Asperger's or anyone on the Spectrum?

Same goes for AS, is that Asperger's Syndrome, or Autistic Spectrum?

Asperger's is just a historical term for some characteristics on the spectrum.

What does "Aspie" mean then? Someone with Asperger's Specifically, or someone anyone on the Spectrum?

For the longest time I thought that AS meant autistic spectrum, and I can still tend to use it as such...but I guess it is really just short for Aspergers syndrome....also, an aspie is someone with aspergers syndrome.

I sorta came up with my own lingo to circumvent the whole Aspergers thing.
I use "AS-ish" to describe friends and family who are not diagnosed, but exhibit alot of traits....so before I was diagnosed, I called myself AS-ish.
I also use the word "spectrumy"...same thing...for people who seem to be someplace on the spectrum...but not sure exactly where....and no diagnosis or anything to speak of necessarilly

My small group of friends is rather spectrumy..

As I see it, Aspie would be a person with aspergers, and AS would be Aspergers. Autism spectrum disorders would be ASD. Autism Disorder would be AD.
