I ask because I've just started getting into it. I saw an awesome exhibition yesterday (anyone in Melbourne - check it out. on Gertrude st Fitzroy): 100 sound artists showing their stuff. I was hoping there were others here who liked it, who could recommend some good acts/artists.

You mean music, right?

I don't really make a distinction between sound and music. But, what artists or works do you like, anyway?

Sound art does not necessarily mean music.

Look it up.

I don't remember all the names of the people I like, but I'm interested in some field recordings. There's this one guy who puts contact microphones on long lengths of fencewire and powerlines and records the way the wind moves through them. There's another guy from Japan, I don't remember his name, who is interested in the correlation between musical space and cognitive space. I kind of think they're almost the same thing. Music and sound create spaces in your mind, in my opinion.
