I'd say your best bet is to translate from English to your native language. (Or some other language to English, if that is your native language.), because you usually have a better understanding of the nuances of that language and thus it becomes easier to translate.

Of course, if you really want to translate from your native language to English, or from another language to your native tongue or something like, there's nothing stopping you.
