I'm fine with that fact as a fact, though I don't like it how they do it: They never want to be friends with you, when you don't wear fashionable clothing! You can stand on your head if you like, they will never like you just because you don't wear the ''right'' clothes.
Although some people are particularly bitchy and cruel when it comes to looking fashionable, and others are less so, I still agree with you. In general, if you don't look fashionable enough, nobody really wants to know you. The politer ones will perhaps be prepared to talk to you a little, but not to the extent that it might give onlookers the impression that you're actually a friend of theirs, because they don't want to be seen to have a friend who doesn't 'look right'. It wouldn't matter if you were the nicest, kindest, most interesting person on the planet - if your clothes/hair aren't at least somewhat fashionable, you're automatically dismissed.
Perhaps it's because fashion is, to one degree or another, such a vital part of most NT's lives - particularly female NTs - that someone who obviously has no interest in it whatsoever comes over as so different and so bizarre to them that they just don't know what to make of it.
