While I am not a moderator, and therefore not in a position to give an authoritative answer, there have been signatures with a thread link in them previous and I do not recall any issue being raised with that previously. Given the ToS, I would presume that to simply post a link and nothing more to a thread could be frowned upon - it does not contribute to the conversation. However, were it provided in the context of that particular thread, with a specific citation, you would be more appropriate in doing that than copy/pasting parts of those linked stories according to recent discussion... while it isn't a bad thing, the link provides information in its original setting instead of being taken out of context and twisted through excerpts. I think you've come across a novel solution for what you want to accomplish; whether or not it will be successful or evolve, I don't know, but I've already added one link earlier and support the creative approach.
