I'm just wondering if my desire to see organized color is an Aspie thing. Like, I prefer all gold lights or all one color rather than the multicolor lights that chaotically spread color. It's just too much to take in and isn't too pleasing to my eye. I know that multicolor strands have patterns on the strand, but once it's on a tree or something, the pattern is lost.

Oh gosh. That house would almost send me into a seizure if I was exposed to it for more than a few moments.

I hate gaudy christmas lights, and I tend to avoid them altogether. I opt for simple traditional decorations made from natural materials like wood and straw. If I do have lights, I have a single string of crisp white or ice blue. None of that flashing or musical malarky.

You have to have both white and colored lights or else you are being racist.

I didn't know "gaudy" was a word. I thought my dad made it up because that was what he was always calling them and no one else ever called them that.

I've always loved gaudy houses and always wanted my parents to do it on our house but they always said "no" because it was too much work. My dad didn't like gaudy houses.
My ex loved Christmas and every year he would make the outside of his apartment gaudy, when he lived in a house, he did the same. But at 10 at night, he and his gf had to turn off their Christmas lights because it bothered neighbors and it would keep them up all night because they were so bright. They had to compromise. In 2006 he didn't do it because he didn't have time that year.

I like any lights. If there are hardly any, I find it boring. I like seeing the decorations in yards and on homes

The only problem I have with Christmas light are blue leds, and I hate my dad's love of them. The blue leds actually cause undesirable overload, and make me feel sick. I describe it to other people who can't understand that as "they make my field of vision seem wrong" even tho thats not what it is, they seem to get that idea better.

I'm on the fence about my vote. I like lots of colors and I like the multicolored strings but I don't like it when it's all chaotic.. mis-matched and blinking out of sync. So I put the organized one. I love all the colors but I like them organized.

The house posted above is organized. I like it.

Just as long as they don't blink, I'm fine with whatever colors.

I agree! And if they blink, please slowly. Nothing annoys me more than LEDs, which are not really static sources of light but which unintendedly blink if you move your head when looking at them. I HATE that!

Maybe thats why I have the problem with the blue LEDs.

When I lived at home with my mom, I had multicolored string lights (the small, pastel kind) completely outlining my ceiling, closet, window, and door. I liked them but when they were on it gave the whole room a pink glow and I didn't like that cuz I don't like pink. But the lights rocked.

They have red LED lights in some car tail lights now. Those always trip me out because as I move my eyes around, they seem to glitch out and follow me. Same deal with the orange lights on the stairs at some movie theaters.

I just LOVE Christmas lights on houses. I've seen some that are all the same color, which look nice, and some that have multicolored patterns.

The only ones I cannot stand are the blue LED lights. They hurt my eyes so badly that I cannot look at the house. They literally cause me pain, and a sense of vertigo.

We do our tree up with old-fashioned lights (no LEDs) and bubble lamps. I can watch bubble lamps for hours. :D

I don't care. They are a waste of electricity.
