It's the second rarest blood type. Only 2% of people have it.

It is important if you have some kind of health-related emergency, and you're in need in blood.
If it isn't the right blood type, the blood you might be transfused could kill your blood cells...
If you're an A, you can give to A and AB...
And receive from A and O...
B can give to B and AB
And can receive from B and O...
AB can give only to themselves, but how lucky, they can receive from anybody...
O can give to everybody, and receive only from themselves...
The negative/positive thing is important if you're planning to have a child and your wife is Rhesus - and you're rhesus +, because at the second pregnancy, the foetus or the mother can die at the deliver... But nothing to worry about, doctors can cure this now ^^, it was only important before...

^ If you donate blood (in England, anyway) they'll send you a letter telling you your blood type. There are probably other ways, but that's how I found out.
