Do you see no point in 1000+ songs on an Ipod?

For me I don't see the point. I have nearly 150 songs NO WHERE NEAR 1000+. IMO I find it silly. :-) Does anyone else agree? I am getting an Ipod Touch 16GB but mainly due to Apps and I can play movies unlike my Shuffle one guy on Youtube with a couple movies,1000+ songs and 30Apps he had 7GB left so I'll HAVE TONS left LOL! :-)

The most I've ever had on my computer is like 400 some songs. Anyone with 1000 songs needs to lighten up a bit on the music scale and start saving their money. Not only is there not that much good music out there, but haivng 1000 songs on an iPod means you are probably only going to listen to 400 of those songs anyways.

I've used my iPod as a hard drive sometimes, so it's useful to have a lot of space.

For some people, it is necessary. My sister has a DJ friend in Seattle that has several 80gb iPods, all filled completely, each iPod containing a different genre of music. Myself, I have an 80 gig Zune, 2,300 songs on it, of which I listen to maybe 300. The only reason I was able to fill 30 gigs of it was because I went on a spree of downloading and converting 20gb of movies, TV shows, and music videos for it.

I've got 162 songs (11.9 hours or 894.3 MB) and 13 movies (Just over a day worth or 13.76 GB) on my iPod Touch. I'll leave it like that so I can safely add appointments, games and apps.

I'm one of those people who hates hearing the same song over and over. I almost consume music. That being said, I'm not sure if there's 1,000 songs I would want to hear...;)

Nonsense! My music is everything to me. I have 4553 songs currently on my iPod. I get terribly upset if I can't update my iPod or a song gets corrupted and I can no longer carry it around in my pocket. =[

So far I have 500+ songs on my iPod, so, nah, I see the point. Not to mention that you could also put pics and vids on iPods, too...

I can see the point. There are way more than 1000 good songs(I'm not limiting myself to new music or to one genre) out there, and every year several more are made. Besides that, with more than 1000 songs it will take you a few days to a few weeks to go through the whole play list, which is good if you're not wanting to hear the same stuff day after day.

I agree. I have maybe 100 (I don't know all that many singers, and most of the people I know don't like the pop genre - which is the one I love)
Personally I just don't see why people need so many unless they're a DJ...I love listening to song over and over and over again until the lyric and tune are completely memorized and with me even without the MP3 player :D

I tend to listen to the same song over and over. I have about 40 songs on my IPod and I don't listen to most of them regularly.

It probably depends on how much you love music. I think it is a bit too much, and I'd imagine it would cost a lot of money if downloading from the internet.

I love music, I am a musician. I also study music at university.

So for my needs, it's great. I can carry a whole library of music around in my pocket to refer to at any point.

BUT i gave up on iPods because of the negative effect on your ears. Seriously, you can really damage your hearing if you aren't careful.

Currently, I have 1827 songs in my iTunes library, and that is for personal use.

I have 2211 on my iPod Classic 80GB and I listen to a good majority of it to be honest.

Some interesting replies I never thought of DJ's. :-) I focus on new music which I rarely hear since one of my favorite stations shut down in 2008. I also enjoy mostly Rock and a few Country songs otherwise I don't hear much new stuff. :-)

1000 is nothing.

I need a constant flow of new music on my iPod, in very high doses. I am a hopeless addict.
